Sunday at Scarboro – June 9, 2019

Worship Start Time: 10:30am
Theme: Camp Scarboro - Pentecost

Come to Scarboro as we worship together every Sunday. We will have the coffee on at 10, so come early and catch up with your community.

Today we celebrate the end of the school year with Camp Scarboro. Join us for a joyful service of music and worship, followed by games and a BBQ lunch in the Memorial Hall!

Thank you to everyone who participated in Bicycle Sunday last week! We've made it to Pentecost, and now the question is, did we make it to Jerusalem? Today is your last chance to get your mileage in, be sure to fill in that tally sheet on the News... there's still time to claim your kilometers for memory verses and spiritual practice too! We are only 62km short of our target, so record your last batch of activity and maybe we will have enough mileage leftover for a sightseeing tour around the city!

Each Sunday we will pause to pray for the cities, towns, and countries that we pass through: This week, we pray for all the people desperate enough to trust their lives, and the lives of their families, to ill equipped vessels crossing the Mediterranean Sea. We pray that governments and politicians remember that there are individuals behind the label of ‘migrants’. We pray for an end to the violence, political and environmental uncertainty, and poverty that drive people from their homelands. May we remember that the number of climate refugees is projected to rise steeply, and may we act.

Sunday at Scarboro – Feb 10, 2019

Worship Start Time: 10:30am
Theme: Fifth Sunday after Epiphany - Annual General Meeting & LUNCH

Read Lee's message HERE.

This Sunday we will incorporate our Annual General Meeting into our usual worship service. Service starts at 10:30, and the coffee will be on at 10 as usual! Read the Annual Report HERE.

After service, we will gather in the Memorial Hall for lunch, celebrating Rev. Lee Spice as she prepares to move into her new role as Pastoral Relations Minister for Region 3, Chinook Winds. Lee has been with us since 2010, come and help send her off with love and laughter.

Lee's last sermon at Scarboro will be on February 17th, and her last service here will be an intergenerational service on February 24th. We have been so lucky to have her all to ourselves for nearly a decade; now it's time for her to spread her gifts to the wider United Church.
