Scarboro Church Choir is directed by Music Director Liz Paynter and is open to all. Rehearsals are held every Thursday from 7:30 – 9:30pm, and immediately prior to worship service on Sunday mornings. Liz Paynter has been a music specialist with the Calgary Board of Education for over 20 years, and is also very actively involved in the Western Canadian choral scene. In demand as a director and choral clinician, she is currently directing One Accord, a 55 voice community choir, EnChor, an auditioned chamber choir, and is the Children’s Choir director at Mount Royal University.
In recent years, Liz directed the Calgary Multicultural Choir, and was the interim artistic director of the Calgary Men’s Chorus. She has often directed and accompanied choirs during the Naramata Centre summer “Music Week” program, and is now on the advisory team for program. Music is a passion she shares with her husband Graham, and their two children, Joshua and Rebecca.
