Lee Spice was born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon, and her Northern, First Nations roots are still very important to her. Her academic studies have taken many forms - from studying Biology as an undergraduate to pursuing a couple of degrees in Education. She taught school in the First Nations community of Hobbema and then moved into Adult Education, promoting health careers to First Nations folk, and later engaging in student support at the educational consortium in Claresholm.

Lee discerned a call to ministry within the congregation in Claresholm, completing several courses from St. Stephen's College (Edmonton) and a Clinical Pastoral Education course at the Regional Hospital in Lethbridge. She completed an M. Div.(University of Winnipeg) through the In-Community Program for Ordination and was ordained in 2004. As a student she served the pastoral charges of Claresholm-Stavely and Westwinds (Vulcan and Carmangay), and worked as a chaplain at the two hospitals in Claresholm. She was settled into Arrowwood (Buffalo Hills Pastoral Charge) in 2004.

Lee enjoys playing in the outdoors - walking the dogs, hiking, climbing, cross-country and downhill skiing, snowshoeing and cycling, and also has been known to haunt the swimming pool and indoor climbing gym. She also enjoys music - recorders, whistles and percussion - and plays in the Okotoks community band.

Lee is married to Ron, and they have three grown children.
